# 1 KALA PATTHAR, EVEREST REGION

Kala Patthar (5,164m), near Everest Base camp, is the most attractive viewpoint for the Himalayan lover. One can catch the closest view of Mount Everest and the surrounding Himalayas. But getting to Kala Patthar is not easier, it takes about 12 days round trip on the trail to Everest Base camp from Lukla airport. You can even take a helicopter ride from Lukla or even directly from Kathmandu.

# 2 KHOPRA DANDA ANNAPURNA REGION

Khopra Danda, (3,660m) is the next viewpoint to offer in Nepal. It provides the spectacular view of Dhaulagiri (8,167m), the world’s 7th highest mountain. It is also one of the rare viewpoints that belongs a lodge. But it needs a bit of luck to get a room there which can give you a view of the Himalayas in the morning from the comfort of your sleeping bag. The place also offers an amazingly scenic breakfast. We need to walk 6 days of trekking to reach Khopra Danda.

 

# 3 GOKYO RI, EVEREST REGION

A rocky peak, 5,357m above sea level, Gokyo Ri is the slightly lesser-known, and slightly farther away viewpoint of Everest compared to Kala Patthar. From here the view of Everest and other mountain range are amazing, and some even consider it the best point for mountain view as more of the surrounding mountains can be observed, including 3additional 8,000m peaks: Lhotse, Makalu, and Cho Oyu. Trekking to Gokyo Ri takes about 14 days round trip from Lukla, via Namche Bazaar and Gokyo Lake.

# 4 TENGBOCHE, EVEREST REGION

Tengboche has been famous among trekkers in the Everest region. It lies on the trail to Everest Base Camp and belongs to a famous Buddhist monastery at 3,867m above sea level. The place offers an amazing view of Ama Dablam, which is considered the world’s most beautiful mountain.

Lodge facilities are available at Tengboche and require a trek of 5 days from Lukla via Namche Bazaar.

Poon Hill (3,210m) lies just above the village of Ghorepani in the Annapurna region of Nepal, is the most visited and liked viewpoint in Nepal. The hilltop offers stunning views of sunrise and eye-catching Dhaulagiri and Annapurna ranges. Compared to other places on the list, Poon Hill is relatively easily accessible and requires 3-4 days round trip from Pokhara.
