Trip Overview

The Saribung Peak Expedition and Upper Mustang Trek is a remote and adventurous journey that combines high-altitude climbing with cultural exploration in one of Nepal’s most isolated regions. This 25-day expedition takes you from the lush valleys of the Annapurna region into the dry, dramatic landscapes of Upper Mustang and onward to the technical ascent of Saribung Peak (6,346m).

The journey begins with a scenic flight to Pokhara and continues to Jomsom, before entering the restricted kingdom of Upper Mustang. Along the way, trekkers pass ancient villages, monasteries, cave dwellings, and the historic walled city of Lo Manthang.

As the route progresses deeper into the wilderness, the landscape becomes more remote and alpine, eventually leading to the challenging Saribung Peak Base Camp. The summit climb involves glacier travel, rope sections, and high-altitude mountaineering, offering a true expedition experience far from crowded trekking routes.

After the climb, the journey continues through the hidden valleys of Phu and Nar regions, showcasing preserved Tibetan-influenced culture before descending back toward the Annapurna trail system. This expedition is ideal for experienced trekkers seeking a rare combination of adventure, isolation, culture, and technical Himalayan climbing.
