Gokyo Lake Everest Base Camp Island Peak is for enthusiastic climbers who don’t get enough of mountains, this trek will definitely realize their pursuit of Mountain climbing in the Himalayas. Island peak climbing is most popular amongst trekkers in the Everest region. Between the Chukung glaciers, the peak rises tall in between like an island. It is also known as Imja Tse. In the west façade of the Island peak is a glacier of mountains like Mt. Everest, Mt. Makalu, Mt. Ama Dablam, and Mt. Nuptse. This trek unfolds beautiful Gokyo Lakes which lie North of Namche Bazaar. The higher pass of the trek to Khumbu Valley where you follow Khumbu Glacier up to Everest Base Camp. Then moving up to Kalapatthar and the challenging ascent to the summit (6,189m/20,305ft) of the island peak standing on top of the greatest trek climb mountains will be memorable throughout your life.

Arrival in Kathmandu(1,345m/4,412ft)

Our company representative will be there at Tribhuvan International Airport to welcome you. Meet and Greet, transfer to the Hotel. Rest Day free for own activities. Overnight in the hotel.

Kathmandu Valley Sightseeing tour and trek preparation.

After breakfast, visit for sightseeing of various famous world heritage sites which includes Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa, and Kathmandu Durbar Square. Afternoon free for trek preparation, shopping & other various own activities. Overnight in Kathmandu. Meals Included:  Breakfast

Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla(40 minutes) then trek to Phakding (2,651m/8,700ft);3-4 hours

We leave our hotel early and transfer to the airport for flight to Lukla (9,186ft) which will take around 40 minutes. Clear skies permitting, we enjoy one of the most beautiful air routes in the world with an awe-inspiring glimpse of high Himalayan giants like Everest, Ama Dablam, and Nuptse. On arrival in the famous town of Lukla (‘Place with many goats and sheep’) we start our journey walking down to Phakding which will take around 4 hours and spend the night there. Accomodation in Phakding. Phakding to Namche Bazaar(3440m/11,283ft);5-6 hours

After breakfast we begin our trekking through a beautiful pine forest, we cross the mighty glacier-fed Dudh Kosi River and continue through forested valleys to enter the Sagarmatha National Park. Tonight we stay at the famous prime heartland of Sherpa village – Namche Bazaar. Accommodation in Namche Bazaar. Meals Included:  Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Acclimatization at Namche Bazaar

Today we spend a day in Namche Bazaar in order to get acclimatized with the rising altitude, to prevent ourselves from high altitude sickness and acclimatize our body. The whole day we spend doing some fine day walks up to the Everest view hotel and explore the magnificent views around the Namche Bazaar. Namche Bazaar to Phortse(3,680m/12,073ft);5-6 hours

After breakfast we’ll climb the Khumjung hill and descend to the east of the village down the broad valley leading through a forest to the Phortse. Accommodation in Phortse. Meals Included:  Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Phortse to Machhermo(4,470m/ 14,663ft);4-5 hours

After breakfast we’ll trek towards Machhermo. From Dole it is a gradual ascent through a forest to Machhermo. In season the whole forest is covered with the various colour rhododendron. Accommodation in Machhermo. Meals Included:  Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Machhermo- Gokyo(4,800 m/15,744 ft);4-5 hours

Trek from Machhermo to Gokyo via Phangkha takes about five hours. On the way you can observe various local activities like yak herding. Accommodation in Gokyo. Meals Included:  Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Hike to Gokyo Ri (Acclimatization Day)

Today we are going to stay in Gokyo for exploration and acclimatization. We’ll hike to Gokyo Ri (5,430m) to see the excellent panoramic view of the Everest region and if time left we’ll also explore the remaining lakes of Gokyo as this are very popular besides its grand view. Accommodation in Gokyo. Meals Included:  Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Gokyo to Thangnang(4750 m/15,580 ft);4-5 hours

If we haven’t explored the Gokyo RI the previous day, we do this today. Gokyo RI is the major highlight of this trek. So, early morning, we’ll climb to Gokyo RI which we’ll take about 3 to 4 hours to reach the top. After our visit to Gokyo RI, we trek down to Gokyo and after breakfast, we trek further down to Thaknak. Accommodation in Thanak. Meals Included:  Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Thangnak to Cho-La pass(5,367m/17,604 ft) to Dzongla(15, 939 ft);8-9 hours

We will start our trek early in the morning because Cho La Pass is another show up of this trip. Today will be the toughest day of the whole trek as we have to walk around 8-9 hours in a vertical, steep and greasy trail. We have be more careful in this trail as the trail is slippery and vertical. Accommodation in Dzongla. Meals Included:  Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Trek along the Khumbu Glacier from Dzongla to Lobuche(4,940m/16,207ft)

Today after breakfast we’ll trek from Dzongla to Lobuche which is an easy one, takes around 2.5 hours only. Lobuche peak appears more clear and beautiful from this trail. Accommodation in Lobuche. Meals Included:  Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

From Lobuche trek to Gorak Shep(5,170m/16,961ft) then up to Everest Base Camp(5,380m/17,600ft) and back to Gorak Shep

Today we’ll trek to Gorakshep then finally to the Everest Base Camp where will see snow capped peaks intimating us the top of the world. Then we’ll walk back to Gorakshep. Accommodation in Gorakshep. Meals Included:  Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Gorak Shep-Kala Patthar (5,545m/18,192ft) -Dingboche(4,410m/14,468ft);5-6 hours

Today we’ll hike to Kala patthar then see the Everest from there then decline towards Dingboche. Accomodation in Dingboche. Meals Included:  Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Dingboche to Island peak base camp(4,970m/16,305ft);5-6 hours

After breakfast we’ll trek from Dingboche towards the Island Peak Base Camp which will take around 6 hours. We’ll be staying here for around 3-4 days in a tent. Accomodation in Island Peak Base Camp . Meals Included:  Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Rest day and preparation for summit day

Today we’ll take a break at Island Peak base Camp. Our Climbing guide will give briefing about the the expedition share the knowledge about the climbing instrument and do and don’ts during the climbing. Accomodation in Island Peak Base Camp . Meals Included:  Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Summit of Island peak (6,189m/20,305ft) and descend to Chhukung;9-10 hours

Today is the day that you’ll summit the Island peak standing at an elevation of 20,304 ft. For some of you this will be the highest point they have ever been. Accomodation in Island Peak Base Camp. Meals Included:  Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Reserve Day for Contingency

As we know that the weather condition in this height is not certain. Anything can happen anytime so, the contingency day is the extra day that we’ll have for the summit. If this day is not used, everything goes well as planned itinerary then we’ll used this day to explore or sightseeing around the Kathmandu Valley. Accomodation in Island Peak Base Camp. Island Peak Base Camp to Pangboche (3,985m/13,074ft);5-6 hours

This day we’ll decline towards Pangboche which will takes around 5-6 hours. Accomodation in Pangboche. Meals Included:  Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Pangboche to Namche Bazaar (3,440m/11,286ft);4-5 hours

Today we’ll trek from Pangboche towards Namche Bazaar which will takes around 5 hours. Accomodation in namch Bazaar. Meals Included:  Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Namchebazzar- Lukla(2,860m/9,186ft);6-7 hours

Today the trail is mostly downhill from Namche to Phakding. We’ll cross the suspension bridge above the roaring Dudh Koshi reach Phakding. Then we’ll cross through the dense forest and Sherpa villages eventually we’ll reach Lukla where we can have a rest with all the experiences of the last two weeks. Lukla to Kathmandu

Early morning flight from Lukla to Kathmandu which will be a relaxing one. Reaching Kathmandu you’ll be transferred to the hotel. Rest day free for your own activities, you can relax or can go for shopping or can hang around the street of Kathmandu. Accommodation in Hotel at Kathmandu. Meals Included:  Breakfast, Dinner

Final departure

Last day of our Journey. After Breakfast our representative will  transfer you to the airport three hours early before as flight schedule for onward journey. Meals Included:  Breakfast
