Annapurna Basecamp Trekking

A wonderful serenity has taken possession of my entire soul, like these sweet mornings of spring which I enjoy with my whole heart. I am alone and feel the charm of existence in this spot, which was created for the bliss of souls like mine. I am so happy, my dear friend, so absorbed in the exquisite sense of mere tranquil existence, that I neglect my talents. I should be incapable of drawing a single stroke at the present moment; and yet I feel that I never was a greater artist than now. When, while the lovely valley teems with vapor around me, and the meridian sun strikes the upper surface of the impenetrable foliage of my trees, and but a few stray gleams steal into the inner sanctuary, I throw myself down among the tall grass by the trickling stream; and, as I lie close to the earth, a thousand unknown plants are noticed by me: when I hear the buzz of the little world among the stalks, and grow familiar with the countless indescribable forms of the insects and flies, then I feel the presence of the Almighty, who formed us in his own image, and the breath.

Machhapuchhre the fishtailed mountain is believed to be one of the homes of Lord Shiva. At the Annapurna Base Camp Trek, you will see Annapurna 1, South Annapurna, Gangapurna, and Hiunchuli up close. You come across a variety of vegetation surrounded by fern, bamboo, and rhododendrons. At Sinuwa forest gets dense you see a lot of Oak trees. When you move higher towards deurali, the forest gives way to tall grass.

You will find trees that are used to make paper by the locals and are called Daphne. You pass through a roaring river called Modi Khola. The Annapurna Conservation area is home to 474 birds, 102 mammals, flowering plants, and creatures. Food will be served at the teahouse in Nepali cuisine. Ghandruk is the biggest village in this area. Pokhara is the gateway to the Annapurna region. Kong Rong is located on top of a ridge. We descend from Kongrong towards kimrong and cross kimrong Khola. Chomrong is the gateway towards Annapurna Sanctuary.

The trail to Sinuwa is lined with trees and forests and from there you will be entering the Sanctuary area. As you reach bamboo you can hear the gushing sound of the running river Modi Khola. Ascending to Dovan is the most beautiful walk of this trek. From Dovan gradual and steep ascent leads to the Machhapuchhre base camp.

After coming from Deurali to Machhapuchhre base camp and two and a half hours you will reach Annapurna base camp. It is an Alpine terrain with grasslands on a rocky mountain. Then you will be heading the same trail back to bamboo. This is perhaps the longest trek. From Bamboo, we head to Jhinu Danda and trek to Nayapul where this Annapurna Base Camp Trek ends. Then we leave for Kathmandu for the final departure.

The Annapurna Base Camp can be done all season round but sometimes in the winter season, the base camp may be closed due to the level of snow.
