Trip Overview

Nar Phu trek is a fantastic journey to the wild and unexplored vicinity of Northern Annapurna. Moreover, the trek will combine the remote villages of Nar & Phu that ventures into canyons, lovely forests, rocky formations, Monasteries, Yaks, and towards Kang La pass.

In addition, The villages of Tibetan heritage embody long-established traditions of Yak herding and harvesting medicinal herbs. From Kang La pass trekkers will spot peaks of Mt. Annapurna, Gangapurna, and Tilicho Peak.

Finally, you will arrive at Muktinath and trek to Jomsom from where you will fly back to  Pokhara. Then, you leave for Kathmandu either by bus or by flight.

In the end, you depart for home through Tribhuvan International Airport taking with you the experience of the Nar Phu trek.

Arrive in Kathmandu (1345 meters) and transfer to Hotel

Our company guide will be there at Tribhuvan International Airport to meet & greet then transfer to the Hotel. Rest Day is free for your own activities.  Overnight in Kathmandu.

Sightseeing at Kathmandu and preparing for Trek

After breakfast, visit for sightseeing of various famous world heritage sites which include Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa, and Kathmandu Durbar Square. Afternoon free for trek preparation, shopping & other various own activities. Overnight in Kathmandu.      Meals Included:  Breakfast

Drive from Kathmandu to Besisahar and trek to Chamje (1430m)

Walking Hours: 3–4 hours (after drive)
You start with a long scenic drive from Kathmandu to Besisahar, followed by a short trek to Chamje. The route passes through river valleys, terraced fields, and small villages, offering a gradual transition into the trekking environment.

Chamje to Dharapani (1960m)

Walking Hours: 5–6 hours
The trail follows the Marsyangdi River, crossing suspension bridges and passing through forests and waterfalls. The route involves both ascents and descents, making it a moderate walking day with varied scenery.

Dharapani to Chame (2670m)

Walking Hours: 5–6 hours
You continue along the Annapurna trail through pine forests and traditional villages. As you gain elevation, the air becomes cooler and the mountain views begin to open up. Chame, the district headquarters, offers a comfortable stop with beautiful surroundings.

Chame to Meta (3560m)

Walking Hours: 6–7 hours
Leaving the main Annapurna Circuit trail, you head towards the remote Nar Phu Valley. The path climbs steadily through forested areas and narrow canyons, offering a sense of isolation and adventure. Meta is a quiet settlement surrounded by open landscapes.

Meta to Phu village(4080m)

Walking Hours: 6–7 hours
The trail becomes more rugged and remote as you approach Phu. You pass through high-altitude terrain, ancient settlements, and dramatic landscapes shaped by wind and time. Phu Village offers a unique glimpse into preserved Tibetan culture.

Phu Village to Nar Phedi (3490m)

Walking Hours: 5–6 hours
After exploring Phu, you descend towards Nar Phedi. The route retraces part of the trail while offering different perspectives of the valley. The walk is moderate, with gradual descents and scenic views.

Exploration Day in Nar Village (4,110m)

Walking Hours: 2–3 hours (optional hikes)
This day is set aside for acclimatization and exploration. You can visit nearby monasteries, interact with locals, and enjoy panoramic mountain views. It also helps your body prepare for the high pass ahead.

Trek from Nar-Kang La pass (5320m.)to Ngwal

Walking Hours: 7–9 hours
This is the most challenging and rewarding day of the trek. You cross Kang La Pass at 5,320 meters, enjoying breathtaking views of the Annapurna range. After reaching the pass, you descend steeply towards Ngawal. The long day requires endurance but offers unforgettable scenery.

Trek to  Muktinath(3800m) crossing Throng La Pass(4516m)

Walking Hours: 7–9 hours
An early morning start takes you across Thorong La Pass, the highest point of the trek. The climb is demanding but rewarding with spectacular mountain views. After completing the pass crossing, you make your way down to Muktinath, a holy site visited by pilgrims.

Muktinath to Jomsom (2720m)
