Trip Overview

The Annapurna circuit via Thorang La Pass trekking is a circular route that takes you around the whole of the Annapurna range. This region is considered to be the world’s great trek. You meet the biodiversity of Nepal from low land terrain rice fields, pine forest, Kali Gandaki gorge, Muktinath Temple, and a glimpse of the most beautiful mountains like Lamjung, Himalchuli, Manaslu, Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, and Machhapuchhre. This trek rises to an altitude of 5416m on the Thorung- La pass. You can get the Tibetan culture of the Himalayan Manang Valley and the Lower Mustang. The Annapurna area was opened to foreign trekkers in 1977. You can also enjoy different animals such as Musk deer, jackals, leopards, mountain Thar, and birds such as Pheasant, Lophophorus. This trek is suitable for beginner and moderate trekkers. The trekkers will enjoy the journey to the beautiful Manang and religious Muktinath.

1

Arrive in Kathmandu(1345 meters) and Transfer to the hotel

Our company guide will be there at Tribhuvan International Airport to meet, greet and transfer to Hotel. After freshening up, will provide you with a brief introduction to the trekking routes. Rest Day is free for your own activities. Overnight at hotel.

Drive from Kathmandu-Besisahar(830m); 6-7 hours

Early morning breakfast then drive from Kathmandu to Besisahar which is the gateway to the Annapurna Circuit which takes around 6-7 hours (185km). You will witness stunning snow-capped mountain scenery on the way. Overnight at Guesthouse in Besisahar. Meals Included:  Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Beshishahar- Bahundanda(1430m); 7-8 hours

This is the first day of our trekking we are going to share the path with mule caravans that transport provides to the remote villages. Our route makes its approach through semitropical forests and therefore the rice terraces of Sera to the village of Khudi (840m). Once we tend to pass the village of Bhulbule we are going to see an impressive 60m high body of water. On the approach, we’ve got views of Manaslu (8156m). The mountain views disappear as we tend to return nearer to the tiny city of Ngadi, here we are going ought to cross the Ngadi Khola by a protracted bridge. From here on the path moves gently upwards to Bahundanda, a beautiful village within the saddle of a protracted ridge at 1300m. Accommodation within the Teahouse in Bahundanda. Bahundanda- Chamje(1410m); 6-7 hours

This is the second day of our trekking we’ll start by descending on a steep slippery trail past amphitheater-shaped rice terraces. There will be a small hot spring after this descends. The rest of today’s trek will have us pass the river a couple of times and we will see a couple of waterfalls also. Then we will reach Jagat from where we climb up to Chamje. Chamje- Bagarchhap(2160m); 7-8 hours

Today we will ascent to Bagarchhap through bamboo and rhododendron forests, on a trail high above the river bank. We will pass the village of Tal at 1700 meters which lies at the foot of a large waterfall. Continuing the walk, we will cross to the east bank of the Marshyangdi River by a 60-meter-long bridge. The path can climb up from a second bridge to a stone kani (an overarch trail) that marks the entranceway to Dharapani at 1960 meters. Accommodation within the Teahouse in Bagarchhap. Bagarchhap – Chame(2710m)

After breakfast, we’ll follow the south bank of the river climbing to Syal Khola (the river of jackals) at 2210 meters, after which we will cross the river over a cement bridge near a spectacular waterfall. Along this route, we will likewise observe the two small hot springs by the town on the way to Chame (headquarters of the Manang District). Throughout the day we can have super views of splendid Himalayas including Lamjung Himal, Annapurna II, and Annapurna IV after passing through the forest. Accommodation within the Teahouse in Chame. Chame-Pisang (3190 m); 5-6 hours

After early morning breakfast, we’ll pass the older part of Chame and climb up to Telekhu at 2840 meters and continue with a long pleasant, and mostly level walk through the forest to Brathang. Then we’ll cross back to the south bank of the Marsyangdi on a bridge at 3080 meters then make an extended gentle climb over a ridge through blue pine forests. Trek to Manang(3540m); 5-6 hours

After breakfast, we continue to the drier upper part of the Manang district, which is cut off from the full effect of the monsoon by the Annapurna Range. People of this region herd the yaks & raise crops for a part of the year. We will also make a short visit to Barge Monastery which is the biggest religious community in the whole Manang district. Rest and Acclimatization at Manang

Today we spend a day in Manang in order to get acclimatized to the rising altitude, to prevent ourselves from high altitude sickness, and acclimatize our body. The whole day we spend doing some fine day walks and exploring the magnificent views around the village. Overnight at Guesthouse. Meals Included:  Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Manang to Ledtar (4250m); 4-5 hours

Today we trek slowly upwards to Thorang La. We cross a stream, move to the village of Tenki and proceed with our move out of the Marshyangdi Valley turning northwest up the valley of Jarsing Khola. Following the trail northward of this valley and passing a couple of pastures, juniper trees, and the little village, we reach the meadow where ponies and Yaks graze. As we pass the streams on a wooden bridge and old Mani Walls, we reach the little and beautiful town of Yak Kharka. After an hour from passing Yak Kharka, we’ll arrive at Letdar. Ledtar-Thorang Phedi (4420m); 3-4 hours

After breakfast early in the morning, we ascend to Thorang Phedi. Today’s walk is a quite short relatively easy day to get used to the altitude. As we reach Phedi we will take a rest and further acclimatize before we have to cross the highest point in the trek, and possibly the highest point you have been on in your life. Accommodation within the Teahouse in Thorang Fedi. Meals Included:  Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Trek to Muktinath via. Thorang La Pass (5416m); 8-9 hours

Today is the longest trek so, we’ll be starting before sunrise at 4 am to reach the pass by 9-10 am otherwise weather conditions will greatly affect the journey. We cross over at an altitude of 5416 meters where we’ll be exposed to strong winds if crossing too late. We start to climb steeply that’s regularly used and simple to follow. It often causes terrible problems to cross the pass if it’s covered by snow but it’s all betting on the atmospheric phenomenon. So, reaching the Thorong la Pass, you’ll be rewarded by the magnificent view then we’ll trek down around four hours to the holy town of Muktinath. Overnight at Teahouse in Muktinath. Muktinath to Jomsom(2665 m); 5-6 hours

Today after breakfast we follow the trail down to the Eklebhatti and then follow the Kaligandaki River to Jomsom. But we’ll first descend to Kagbeni, which is around 990 meters descend through meadows, streams, and fruit trees like peach orchards. Then we will continue going down to Jomsom. Overnight at Guesthouse in Jomsom. Meals Included:  Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Drive from Jomsom to Tatopani(1190m); 4-5 hours

After breakfast, we’ll drive from Jomsom to Tatopani. Then we’ll take a bath in a natural hot spring in Tatopani, be fresh. Overnight at Lodge in Tatopani. Meals Included:  Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Trek to Ghorepani(2834m); 7-8 hours

After breakfast in Tatopani, we’ll trek to Ghorepani which is probably the easiest one to navigate as in the context of the previous day’s route where you have to rely on your guide. There are signs at every single intersection. Most of the path is usually made from hand-laid stones, making it the obvious route to take. So, on this day you’ll be walking uphill constantly through the beautiful little towns with amazing views. Overnight at Lodge in Ghorepani. Meals Included:  Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Hike to Poon Hill(3210m) and trek to Nayapul and drive to Pokhara(827m)

Our last day of trekking on the Annapurna Circuit where we’ll hike to Poonhill and then descend to Nayapul. On arrival in Nayapul, our private transportation meets us before driving to Pokhara. Accommodation at the Hotel in Pokhara. Meals Included:  Breakfast & Lunch

Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu; 6-7 hours

Morning sightseeing around Pokhara then drives back to Kathmandu(6-7 hrs.) or optional Fly Back to Kathmandu (25 min) Accommodation at the Hotel in Kathmandu. Meals Included:  Breakfast

Fly back home.

Last day of our Journey. After Breakfast our representative will transfer you to the airport three hours early before the flight schedule for the onward journey. Meals Included:  Breakfast
