Trip Overview

Siklis trek is an off-the-beat trekking destination in the Annapurna region that takes you to the corner of the Annapurna Conservation Area. This area is lacking in development and lies in the northeast of Pokhara. This trek is easy and is specially developed for more inexperienced hikers or anyone interested enough to explore the countryside of Nepal. This trek is one of the best ways to experience an amazing landscape, fresh trekking trails, high mountains, and the cultural beauty of the Annapurna Region.

The Siklis trek offers an experience of a charming village, with intriguing patterns of terraced fields, rhododendron forests, bamboo forests, pastures, and meadows. There are varieties of species of birds that are found in abundance in the forests of the Annapurna region. Most of the villages in the trekking route have a rich Gurung culture. The Gurung people on this trek have their unique customs and traditions.

Outline Itinerary

    1. Meet and Greet at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu (1400m) and transfer to the hotel.
    2. Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara (850m) around 6-7 hours. Optional: flight (25min)
    3. Drive from Pokhara to Bijayapur then trek to Kalikasthan (1370m) 4-5 hrs. Overnight
    4. Trek from Kalikasthan to Lammchaur (1680m) 5-6 hrs. Overnight
    5. Trek from Lammchaur to Siklis (1980m) 5-6 hrs. Overnight
    6. Trek from Siklis to Ghale Gaon (2000m) 6-7 hrs. Overnight
    7. Ghale Gaon to Pokhara 2 hrs. Overnight
    8. Drive back to Kathmandu, 6-7 hours by Tourist bus. Optional: flight (25min)
    9. After breakfast transfer to the airport for the onward journey.

01

Meet and Greet at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu (1400m) and transfer to the hotel.

Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be warmly received and transferred to your hotel. After check-in, you can relax or take a short walk around the nearby area. This day is mainly for settling in and preparing for the journey ahead.

Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara (850m)  Optional: flight (25min)

Driving Hours: 6–7 hours 
Today you travel from Kathmandu to Pokhara, enjoying a scenic drive through rivers, hills, and countryside landscapes. The route follows winding roads with beautiful views along the way. For those preferring a quicker option, a short flight is also available.

Drive from Pokhara to Bijayapur then trek to Kalikasthan (1370m) 

Walking Hours: 4–5 hours
After a short drive to Bijayapur, your trek begins. The trail gradually ascends through farmland and small villages, offering a glimpse into rural life. The walk is moderate and pleasant, leading you to Kalikasthan, a peaceful settlement surrounded by hills.

Trek from Kalikasthan to Lammchaur (1680m) 

Walking Hours: 5–6 hours
Today’s route continues uphill through terraced fields and forested paths. The trail offers open views of the surrounding valleys and occasional mountain glimpses. Walking at a steady pace, you reach Lammchaur, a quiet and less crowded stop along the route.

Trek from Lammchaur to Siklis (1980m) 

Walking Hours: 5–6 hours
The trail gradually climbs as you make your way toward Siklis, one of the largest Gurung villages in the region. Along the way, you pass through traditional settlements and scenic landscapes. Upon arrival, you can explore the village and experience local culture and lifestyle.

Trek from Siklis to Ghale Gaon (2000m) 

Walking Hours: 6–7 hours
Today’s trek is one of the longer days, taking you through forested trails and ridgelines with beautiful panoramic views. The route connects two culturally rich villages, offering insight into Gurung heritage. Ghale Gaon is known for its hospitality and traditional atmosphere.

Ghale Gaon to Pokhara (850m)

Driving Hours: ~2 hours
After breakfast, you leave the hills behind and drive back to Pokhara. The journey is short and comfortable, allowing you to relax and enjoy the transition from mountain village to city. The rest of the day is free to explore or unwind.

Drive back to Kathmandu

Driving Hours: 6–7 hours (Optional flight: 25 min)
You travel back to Kathmandu by tourist bus or optional flight. The drive offers another chance to enjoy Nepal’s scenic countryside. Upon arrival, you can spend your final evening at leisure.
