Your great Himalayan adventure kicks off with an early morning overland drive leaving the Kathmandu Valley. As you wind along scenic highways, you will witness sprawling terraced fields, rushing rivers, and rustic roadside settlements. The road climbs steadily into the foothills, treating you to breathtaking, distant panoramas of the snow-capped Everest range as you reach the welcoming ridge-top village of Pattale.

Today, you will continue your road journey through the rugged, twisting mountain passes of the Solukhumbu region. The drive eventually concludes at the large, culturally rich Rai settlement of Bung, where you will prepare your gear for the upcoming trekking days.

Lacing up your boots, you will leave the main roads behind to begin the foot expedition. As you gain more than a thousand meters of elevation, the subtropical air transitions into a cool, refreshing alpine breeze, leading you to your resting spot at Chharakhar.

The panoramic vistas expand drastically with every hour of hiking, leading you to the isolated grazing settlement of Khola Kharka.

Walking through the shadows of massive peaks, you will follow a well-trodden riverside trail that opens up into the beautiful settlement of Kothe.

Richer oxygen levels welcome you back as the path drops more than 1,500 meters, bringing you into the lush sub-alpine forests of Watelma Dovan.

The return trek continues down through magnificent, isolated landscapes where few standard tourists ever step. By afternoon, you will reach the quiet, peaceful clearing of Waikho Telm.

This marks your final full day of foot travel, taking you on a beautiful descent out of the high wilderness back into thriving civilization. The trail winds down through rich bamboo groves, rhododendron forests, and carefully manicured terraced hillsides. You will soon arrive back in the welcoming Rai village of Bung, completing an incredible wilderness loop.

Altitude: 2,379 meters | Approximate Time: 6 hours

Your overland journey home officially begins today. You will leave the trekking trails behind to board a local four-wheel-drive vehicle. The driving route snakes through the lower foothills of the Solukhumbu region, crossing bridges and passing lively mountain towns until you arrive at the major regional hubs of Salleri and Phaplu.

Altitude: 1,327 meters | Approximate Time: 8 hours Drive / 35-minute Flight

On your final day, you have two fantastic options to return to the capital. You can take a long, panoramic overland drive along winding rivers and rural highways, absorbing the final views of the Nepalese countryside. Alternatively, you can board a quick, thrilling 35-minute morning flight from Phaplu airport, sweeping past the Himalayan giants before touchdown in Kathmandu.
