Arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, where our representative will warmly welcome you and transfer you to your hotel. Once you have checked into your hotel, feel free to unwind and refresh after your travels, or step out for a leisurely stroll through the vibrant streets of Thamel. In the evening, a detailed trek briefing will be conducted, covering the route, safety guidelines, packing essentials, and overall preparation for the Mundum Trail Trek via Phaplu.

Fly or Drive from Kathmandu to Phaplu

After breakfast, we begin our journey to Phaplu either by a scenic mountain flight or an overland drive. The route offers beautiful views of hills, rivers, and distant Himalayan peaks. Phaplu is a calm and picturesque gateway to the Solukhumbu region, surrounded by traditional settlements and peaceful natural scenery. Upon arrival, you can explore the surroundings and prepare for the trekking adventure ahead.

Trek from Phaplu to Salleri / Ringmo

We start our trekking journey through beautiful Sherpa villages, terraced farmlands, and forest trails. This is a relatively easy walking day, designed to help with gradual acclimatization while introducing you to the local culture and lifestyle of the Solukhumbu region.

Drive from Salleri to Diktel (Mundum Region Entry)

Today, we take a scenic jeep drive from Salleri to Diktel. As we move eastward, the landscape gradually changes, and we enter the culturally rich Kirati region of Khotang. This area is known for its deep-rooted traditions, peaceful villages, and untouched natural beauty.

Trek from Diktel to Chakhewa

We officially begin the Mundum Trail trekking section today. The trail passes through remote villages, terraced farmland, and dense forest areas. Along the way, we experience the authentic lifestyle of the Kirati (Rai) communities and the serene beauty of eastern Nepal’s hills.

Trek from Chakhewa to Silichung Base Area

We gradually ascend through forested ridges and open landscapes.With every step upward, the trail grows quieter and more remote, opening up magnificent, unobstructed views of the surrounding ridges and the majestic Himalayan range on the horizon. The atmosphere is quiet, natural, and spiritually calming.

Hike to Silichung Peak (4,100m) and Return

Early in the morning, we hike to Silichung Peak, one of the highest viewpoints in eastern Nepal. From the summit, you will enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of Everest, Makalu, Kanchenjunga, and many other peaks. After spending time at the top, we descend back to the base area for rest.

Today’s trail follows a long and scenic ridge route connecting remote villages and forest landscapes. The walk offers a mix of natural beauty and cultural encounters, as we pass through traditional settlements and rural farmlands.

Bung to Diktel, then Drive to Kathmandu

After breakfast, we travel from Bung to Diktel either by trekking or jeep depending on trail conditions. From Diktel, we begin our long but scenic drive back to Kathmandu, passing through hills, rivers, and rural landscapes. Upon arrival, transfer to hotel for rest.
