Trip Overview

The Everest Base Camp Trek with Helicopter Return – 14 Days is the perfect adventure for travelers who want to experience the world’s most famous trekking route while enjoying a comfortable return journey by helicopter. This itinerary combines the excitement of trekking through the heart of the Everest region with the luxury of a scenic helicopter flight back from Lobuche after visiting Kala Patthar.

Your journey begins in Kathmandu with sightseeing and trek preparation before flying to Lukla. The trail follows beautiful Sherpa villages, suspension bridges, alpine forests, and the breathtaking landscapes of Sagarmatha National Park. Along the way, you will spend acclimatization days in Namche Bazaar and Dingboche to help your body adjust to the increasing altitude.

The highlight of the trek is reaching Everest Base Camp at 5,364 meters and hiking to Kala Patthar at 5,545 meters, the best viewpoint for panoramic views of Mount Everest and the surrounding Himalayan peaks.     Day 1: Arrive in Kathmandu (1,345 m) and transfer to your hotel.
    Day 2: Kathmandu sightseeing, trek preparation, and welcome dinner.
    Day 3: Fly to Lukla (2,860 m) and trek to Phakding (2,610 m).
    Day 4: Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,440 m).
    Day 5: Acclimatization hike around Namche Bazaar.

Arrive in Kathmandu (1,345 m) and Hotel Transfer

Welcome to Nepal! After landing at Tribhuvan International Airport, our representative will meet you and transfer you to your hotel in Kathmandu. After check-in, relax after your journey or take a short walk around the colorful streets of Thamel. In the evening, meet your trekking guide for a detailed briefing about the trek, equipment, altitude safety, and the adventure ahead.

Kathmandu Sightseeing and Trek Preparation

Today after breakfast we shall take a first half on sightseeing Kathmandu’s UNESCO heritage sightseeing covering Swyambhu Stupa (Monkey temple) and Kathmandu Durbar Square. Later back to hotel and last minute trek gear preparation. Evening a cultural welcome dinner followed by trek briefing.

03

Fly to Lukla (2,860 m) and Trek to Phakding (2,610 m)

Take an early morning flight to Lukla, the gateway to the Everest region. Meet your trekking crew before beginning your walk through beautiful Sherpa villages, pine forests, and suspension bridges crossing the Dudh Koshi River. The trail is mostly gentle, making it an ideal first day on the trek.

Trek from Phakding (2,610 m) to Namche Bazaar (3,440 m)

Today’s trail follows the Dudh Koshi River and crosses several famous suspension bridges. After entering Sagarmatha National Park at Monjo, continue through peaceful forests before beginning the steady climb to Namche Bazaar. If the weather is clear, enjoy your first distant view of Mount Everest along the way.

Acclimatization Day at Namche Bazaar (3,440 m)

Today is reserved for altitude acclimatization. Hike to the Everest View Hotel for stunning panoramas of Everest, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, and surrounding peaks. You may also visit the traditional Sherpa village of Khumjung or explore the local Sherpa Culture Museum before returning to Namche Bazaar for the night.

06

Trek from Namche Bazaar (3,440 m) to Tengboche (3,860 m)

Leave Namche and follow one of the most scenic sections of the Everest trail. Walk along mountain ridges before descending to the Dudh Koshi River and climbing through rhododendron forests to Tengboche. Visit the famous Tengboche Monastery while enjoying magnificent views of Everest, Ama Dablam, and other Himalayan giants.

Trek from Tengboche (3,860 m) to Dingboche (4,410 m)

Descend through forested trails to Debuche before crossing the Imja Khola. Continue through Pangboche, one of the oldest Sherpa settlements in the Khumbu region. As you enter the Imja Valley, the landscape becomes more open and rugged before reaching Dingboche.

Acclimatization Day at Dingboche (4,410 m)

Take another important acclimatization hike to Nangkartshang Peak. The viewpoint rewards you with spectacular views of Makalu, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Island Peak, and the surrounding Himalayan range. Return to Dingboche for lunch and spend the rest of the afternoon relaxing.

Trek from Dingboche (4,410 m) to Lobuche (4,910 m)

Walk through alpine meadows toward Dughla before climbing to the Thukla Memorial, where monuments honor climbers who lost their lives in the Himalayas. Continue beside the Khumbu Glacier to reach the small settlement of Lobuche, surrounded by dramatic mountain scenery.

Trek from Lobuche (4,910 m) to Everest Base Camp (5,364 m) via Gorakshep (5,164 m)

Follow the rocky trail to Gorakshep and leave your main luggage at the lodge. Continue alongside the Khumbu Glacier until you reach Everest Base Camp, one of the world’s most iconic trekking destinations. Celebrate your achievement, capture unforgettable photographs, and enjoy the incredible mountain setting before returning to Gorakshep.

Hike to Kala Patthar (5,545 m), Descend to Pheriche and Helicopter Flight to Lukla (2,860 m)

Watch the first rays of sunlight illuminate Everest, Nuptse, Pumori, and the Khumbu Glacier. After descending to Pheriche, board a scenic helicopter flight to Lukla and enjoy a breathtaking aerial journey over glaciers, valleys, and snow-covered mountains.
