Trip Overview

Annapurna circuit trek with Tilicho Lake provides you with a close-up view of Annapurna massif, Dhaulagiri, Fishtail, Manaslu, Gangapurna, and Tilicho peak. The landmarks include walking through World’s deepest Kali Gandaki gorge and crossing the highest Thorong La Pass. You visit people from different ethnic groups. Tilicho Lake is located in the Manang district of Nepal. It is situated at an altitude of 4,919 meters and is known as the highest lake in the World.

This trek is one of the popular treks in the Annapurna Himalayan region. The trek starts from Kathmandu to Besisahar and goes along the river Marshyangdi with a glimpse of Mt. Manaslu and Himchuli. You find a village inhabited by diverse ethnic groups. This tour has no motor road from Thorong La till you arrive at Muktinath. From Muktinath, you reach Kalopani, then Ghorepani, and come to Ghandruk and drive to Pokhara. Then we take a drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu and we come to an end of this trekking at Annapurna and Tilicho lake circuit. We depart for our homes through Tribhuvan International Airport.

    Day 1: Arrive in Kathmandu (1,345 m) and transfer to hotel.

    Day 2: Kathmandu sightseeing, trek preparation, and welcome dinner.

    Day 3: Drive Kathmandu to Dharapani (1,960 m) – 7–8 hrs.

    Day 4: Trek Dharapani to Chame (2,710 m) – 5–6 hrs.

    Day 5: Trek Chame to Pisang (3,300 m) – 5–6 hrs.

    Day 6: Trek Pisang to Manang (3,540 m) – 5–6 hrs.

    Day 7: Acclimatization day in Manang with optional hikes.

    Day 8: Trek Manang to Siri Kharka (4,060 m) – 4–5 hrs.

    Day 9: Hike to Tilicho Lake (4,919 m) and return to Siri Kharka – 6–8 hrs.

    Day 10: Trek Siri Kharka to Yak Kharka (4,018 m) – 5–6 hrs.

    Day 11: Trek Yak Kharka to Thorong Phedi (4,525 m) – 3–4 hrs.

    Day 12: Cross Thorong La Pass (5,416 m) and trek to Muktinath (3,800 m) – 8–10 hrs.

    Day 13: Visit Muktinath Temple and drive to Pokhara (900 m) via Tatopani – 8–9 hrs.

    Day 14: Pokhara sightseeing and scenic flight to Kathmandu.

    Day 15: Leisure day, shopping, complimentary spa, and farewell dinner.

Kathmandu Sightseeing with Trek Preparation Day

Today after breakfast we shall take the first half on sightseeing Kathmandu’s UNESCO heritage sites covering Swyambhu Stupa (Monkey Temple) and Kathmandu Durbar Square. Later back to the hotel for last-minute trek gear preparation. Evening a cultural welcome dinner followed by trek briefing.

Guide can test your ability as well as preparation while visiting Swyambhu Stupa, as on descend crossing long 380 stoned paved steps.

Drive from Kathmandu to Dharapani (1,960 m) – 7–8 hrs

Early morning with packed breakfast we take a long scenic drive from Kathmandu in a 4WD jeep ride. Passing through highway and topography landscape, river flow along to reach Dharapani approx. 7–8 hours. Rest completely, refresh and overnight.

Dharapani to Chame (2,710 m) – 5–6 hrs

The first day trail begin with enthusiastic with slow pase. Leaving Dharapani, the trail enters a beautiful forest of pine, fir, and oak. The path passes through Bagarchhap and Timang, where stunning views of Manaslu and Lamjung Himal can be enjoyed on clear days. Continue along the Marsyangdi River before arriving at Chame, the administrative center of Manang District.

Chame to Pisang (3,300 m) – 5–6 hrs

Today’s trek follows a dramatic section of the valley with towering cliffs, dense pine forests, and magnificent mountain scenery. Cross several suspension bridges before reaching the broad Manang Valley. As you approach Pisang, spectacular views of Annapurna II, Pisang Peak, and surrounding snow-capped peaks unfold.

Pisang to Manang (3,540 m) – 5–6 hrs

Take the scenic upper trail through the traditional villages of Ghyaru and Ngawal, known for their ancient monasteries and panoramic Himalayan views. The trail offers excellent scenery and gradual acclimatization before descending slightly into the beautiful village of Manang, surrounded by towering peaks.

Acclimatization Day in Manang (3,540 m)

To prepare your body for higher elevations, spend an extra day in Manang. You can enjoy a short acclimatization hike to Gangapurna Lake, Ice Lake, or nearby viewpoints for spectacular mountain vistas. Explore the village, visit local monasteries, bakeries, or the Himalayan Rescue Association’s altitude awareness presentation.

Manang to Siri Kharka (4,060 m) – 4–5 hrs

Leaving the main Annapurna Circuit, follow a quieter trail toward Tilicho Lake. The route traverses alpine slopes with incredible views of Gangapurna, Annapurna III, and Chulu peaks before reaching the peaceful settlement of Siri Kharka.

Visit Tilicho Lake (4,919 m), Return to Siri Kharka – 6–8 hrs

An early morning trek leads to the breathtaking Tilicho Lake, one of the world’s highest lakes. Surrounded by towering snow-covered peaks, the turquoise waters create an unforgettable Himalayan landscape. After spending time enjoying the scenery and taking photographs, retrace your steps back to Siri Kharka for the night.

Siri Kharka to Yak Kharka (4,018 m) – 5–6 hrs

Retrace the trail toward Khangsar before rejoining the main Annapurna Circuit. Continue gradually uphill through alpine meadows and grazing pastures to Yak Kharka, where blue sheep and yaks are commonly seen against the dramatic mountain backdrop.

Yak Kharka to Thorong Phedi (4,525 m) – 3–4 hrs

Today’s trek is relatively short but important for acclimatization before crossing Thorong La Pass. Follow the rugged trail across landslide-prone sections and cross a suspension bridge before arriving at Thorong Phedi, the final stop before the challenging pass.

Cross Thorong La Pass (5,416 m) to Muktinath (3,800 m) – 8–10 hrs

Begin before dawn for the most demanding and rewarding day of the trek. Climb steadily to Thorong La Pass, one of the highest trekking passes in the world, where spectacular 360-degree views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges await. Descend through rugged terrain to Muktinath, a sacred pilgrimage site revered by both Hindus and Buddhists.

Muktinath to Pokhara (900 m) – 8–9 hrs

Early morning visit the sacred Muktinath Temple. Later our jeep is ready to drive off our last day of trek to welcome another beautiful city of lakes – Pokhara. We shall drive en route and stop at Tatopani to take a deep bath at the natural hot spring pond. It is believed that all tiredness fades away after soaking in the hot spring. Later continue our drive to Pokhara Lakeside. Reach approximately after 8–9 hours, check in to the hotel. Rest and refresh completely.

Pokhara City Sightseeing & Fly Back to Kathmandu

After breakfast take a Pokhara city sightseeing tour covering Devi’s Fall, International Mountain Museum and Fewa Lake. Afternoon a 25-minute scenic flight back to Kathmandu. Check in to the hotel, rest and overnight.
