Trip Overview

Gokyo Lakes and Everest Base Camp consists of the beautiful lakes in Gokyo Valley with the famous Cho-La pass trek which will take you to landmarks of the Khumbu region which of course leads to the Everest region. Along the way, you have the friendly Sherpas, their hometown Namche bazaar, the Sagarmatha National Park, and the base of the mighty Everest. Trekking the Everest base camp via Gokyo Lakes with the alluring sight of Mt. Everest, Cho-Oyu, Lhotse, Makalu, Nuptse, Amadablam, Pumori, and Monastery at Tengboche. It is a high-altitude trek.

Gokyo Lakes and Everest base camp trek is full of adventure and joy for travelers. You can take pictures as a souvenir. As you pass by Thangnak you come across Ngozumpa Glacier. The mesmerizing view of Lake of Gokyo and hike to Gokyo Ri where you can enjoy the sunrise. The journey descends back to Lukla via Namche Bazaar and Dole marks the end of this memorable trekking experience.

Arrive in Kathmandu(1345 meters) and Transfer to the hotel

Our company representative will be there at Tribhuvan International Airport to welcome you. Meet and Greet, transfer to the Hotel. Rest Day free for own activities. Overnight in the hotel.

Kathmandu sightseeing and preparation for Trekking

After breakfast, visit for sightseeing of various famous world heritage sites which includes Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa, and Kathmandu Durbar Square. Afternoon free for trek preparation, shopping & other various own activities. Overnight in Kathmandu. Meals Included:  Breakfast

Kathmandu-Lukla(40 minutes) and trek to Phakding(2,651m/8,700ft);3-4 hours

We leave our hotel early and transfer to the airport for the flight to Lukla (9,186ft) which will take around 40 minutes. Clear skies permitting, we enjoy one of the most beautiful air routes in the world with an awe-inspiring glimpse of high Himalayan giants like Everest, Ama Dablam, and Nuptse. On arrival in the famous town of Lukla (A place with many goats and sheep) we start our journey walking down to Phakding which will take around 4 hours and spend the night there. Phakding to Namche Bazaar(3440m/11,283ft);5-6 hours

After breakfast we begin our trekking through a beautiful pine forest, we cross the mighty glacier-fed Dudh Kosi River and continue through forested valleys to enter the Sagarmatha National Park. Tonight we stay at the famous prime heartland of Sherpa village – Namche Bazaar. Accommodation in Namche Bazaar. Meals Included:  Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Rest Day at Namche Bazaar(3440m/11,283ft) for acclimatization

Today we spend a day in Namche Bazaar in order to get acclimatized to the rising altitude, to prevent ourselves from high altitude sickness, and acclimatize our bodies. The whole day we spend doing some fine day walks and explore the magnificent views around the Namche Bazaar. Accommodation in Namche Bazaar. Meals Included:  Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Namche bazaar to Phortse(3,680m/12,073ft);5-6 hours

After breakfast, we’ll climb the Khumjung hill and descend to the east of the village down the broad valley leading through a forest to the Phortse. Accommodation in Phortse. Meals Included:  Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Phortse to Machhermo(4,470m/ 14,663ft);4-5 hours

After breakfast, we’ll trek toward Machhermo. From Phortse it is a gradual ascent through a forest to Machhermo. In season the whole forest is covered with various colors of rhododendron. Accommodation in Machhermo. Meals Included:  Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Machhermo- Gokyo(4,800 m/15,744 ft);4-5 hours

Trek from Machhermo to Gokyo via Phangkha takes about five hours. On the way, you can observe various local activities like yak herding. Accommodation in Gokyo. Meals Included:  Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Gokyo Valley-acclimatization day. (Hike to Gokyo-RI)

Today we are going to stay in Gokyo for exploration and acclimatization. We’ll hike to Gokyo Ri (5,430m) to see the excellent panoramic view of the Everest region and if time remains we’ll also explore the remaining lakes of Gokyo as these are very popular besides its grand view. Accommodation in Gokyo. Meals Included:  Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Gokyo to Thangnak(4750 m/15,580 ft) to Gokyo;4-5 hours

If we haven’t explored the Gokyo RI the previous day, we do this today. Gokyo RI is the major highlight of this trek. So, in the early morning, we’ll climb to Gokyo RI where it’ll take about 3 to 4 hours to reach the top. After our visit to Gokyo RI, we trek down to Gokyo and after breakfast, we trek further down to Thangnak. Accommodation in Thangnak. Meals Included:  Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Thangnak to Cho-La pass(5,367m/17,604 ft) to Dzongla(15, 939 ft);8-9 hours

We will start our trek early in the morning because Cho La Pass is another show-up of this trip. Today will be the toughest day of the whole trek as we have to walk around 8-9 hours on a vertical, steep, and greasy trail. We have to be more careful on this trail as the trail is slippery and vertical. Accommodation in Dzongla. Meals Included:  Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Dzongla to Lobuche(4940 m/16,207 ft);2-3 hours

Today after breakfast we’ll trek from Dzongla to Lobuche which is an easy one and takes around 2.5 hours only. Lobuche peak appears more clear and beautiful from this trail. Accommodation in Lobuche. Meals Included:  Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Lobuche- Gorak shep(5,170 m/16,961ft) – visit Everest Base Camp(5,380 m/17,600 ft);6-7 hours

Today we’ll trek to Gorakshep and then finally to the Everest Base Camp where will see snow-capped peaks intimating us to the top of the world. Then we’ll walk back to Gorakshep. Accommodation in Gorakshep. Meals Included:  Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Gorak Shep to Kala Patthar (5,545m/18,192ft) to Pheriche (4,288m/14,070ft); 7-8 hours

Today we trek to Kala Patthar then back to Gorakshep and at last to the Pheriche. Kala Patthar is one of the major viewpoints of the mighty Everest as we cannot see Everest from the Everest Base Camp this is the time to take many pictures there for lifelong memories. This is the best point for picturesque scenes to enclose them in your camera. Accommodation in Pheriche. Meals Included:  Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Pheriche- Namche Bazaar;6-7 hours

Today will be a much easier walk down to the lower altitudes. Following the same route, we will descend down. At the Tengboche, we will have our lunch and then straight to the Namche Bazaar. Accommodation in Namche bazaar. Meals Included:  Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Namchebazzar- Lukla(2,860m/9,186ft);6-7 hours

Today the trail is mostly downhill from Namche to Phakding. We’ll cross the suspension bridge above the roaring Dudh Koshi to reach Phakding. Then we’ll cross through the dense forest and Sherpa villages eventually we’ll reach Lukla where we can have a rest with all the experiences of the last two weeks. Accommodation in Lukla. Lukla to Kathmandu

Early morning flight from Lukla to Kathmandu which will be a relaxing one. Reaching Kathmandu you’ll be transferred to the hotel. Rest day free for your own activities, you can relax or can go shopping or can hang around the street of Kathmandu. Accommodation in Hotel at Kathmandu. Meals Included:  Breakfast, Dinner

Last day of our Journey. After Breakfast our representative will transfer you to the airport three hours early before as the flight is scheduled for the onward journey.
