Arrival in Lhasa

As you reach the Airport of Lhasa, Alpine Sherpa Treks’ representative will be there to pick you from the airport and will transfer you to the Luxury Hotel where you can relax and spend over night there.

Sightseeing at Lhasa

During your Lhasa Day Sightseeing you will get chance to Visit World Famous Potala Palace, Sera Monastery and Norbulinka the Summer Palace of the Dalai Lama.

Lhasa Sightseeing- religious and monumental tour

On the very Third Day of Lhasa City Tour, we will be visiting Grashi Monastery,  Monastery, Jokhang Temple and Barkhor street.

# Grashi Monastery: It is the only monastery in Tibet worshiping God Fortune. No documents regarding this majestic monastery have been found yet but Tibetan people believed that the God Fortune presenting here always answered the needs of people. This is local famous monastery.

#Drepung Monastery: This monastery was established in 1416 by Jamyang Choge Tashi Palden (1397-1449), one of Tsongkhapa’s main disciples.

#Jokhang Temple:  This holy temple was built during the regn of King Songsten Gompo in order to celebrate his marriage with Chinese Tang Dynasty princess Wencheng, who was a Buddhist. Sometime this is also called the ‘Tsuklakang’ (Tsulag Khang) — ‘House of Religious Science’ or ‘House of Wisdom.’ The term tsuklak refers to the ‘sciences’ such as geomancy, astrology, and divination.  This temple has remained as the most sacred and important temple for most of the Tibetans. This temple is next major attraction for the tourists after Potala Palace. Temple was included in UNESCO World Heritage Site as “Historic Ensemble of the Potala Palace,” and a spiritual centre of Lhasa.

#Barkhor Street: Barkor Street carries long history of over 1,000 years. This street completely surrounds the Holy Jokhang Temple. This is originally crucial path for Tibetan Buddhists to walk clockwise around to show their devotion. This Barkhor Street features in sale of various kinds of handicrafts and living necessities from local areas, India and Nepal. This is also another major attraction of the Lhasa City.
