01

Meet and greet in Kathmandu Airport and transfer to Hotel

As you land on the TIA of Kathmandu, our company representative will be there to welcome you in Nepal. They will take you to the best hotels of Kathmandu. Be ready to explore the city of Temples for tomorrow.

Full day sightseeing of Kathmandu Valley

As we have breakfast at hotel, we will soon begin to explore the City of Temples I.e. Kathmandu. We will visit the Most UNESCO World Heritage Sites as:

1.Pashupatinath Temple-

This is the most sacred temple for the Hindus and many people from India and Nepal come here to Worship Lord Shiva. You can see lots of Holy men called Sadhus there. This holy temple is enlisted in UNESCO world heritage site in 1979. There is lots of pilgrimages coming to worship and they believe that Lord will fulifill their wishes.

  1. Boudhanath Stupa-

It is believed that Boudhanath stupa is the oldest monument in Kathmandu valley and one of the first monuments with a written history. This Stupa is one of the biggest and important pilgrimages places for the Buddhist. This shrine stupa was included in UNESCO’s world heritage site list in 1979 A.D.

  1. Swayembunath Temple

This temple is also called Monkey temple. You can have clear picturesque of the Kathmandu valley from top of the Temple. Also Buddhist Monks prayers and the ancient art and architect makes this temple much more wonderful.

  1. Kathmandu Durbar Square:

This Durbar Square will surely impress you for the first time visit due to its intricate wood carvings and rich history. This palace is best chemistry of eastern and western architecture with additions by Rana and Shah rulers over the centuries. Attarction of this Durbar Square are Kasthamandap, Kumari Ghar, and Shiva-Parvati Temple, Hanuman Dhoka and the main palace as well as other important buildings.

  1. Patan Durbar Square-

Patan Durbar Square is best known its’ art and architect carvings done in metal, wood and stone. Other famous structure of Durbar Square are Krishna temple, the sunken bath, the tall temple of Taleju and the golden temple.

Fly to Lhasa, Tibet

You will have 2 and half hours flight from TIA to Gongar Airport. It will take half an hour drive from Gongar Airport to reach Lhasa, the capital city of Tibet. You will be taken to hotel. You can enjoy evening walk to the Lhasa city if you want.

Sightseeing of Lhasa including Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple and Barkhor Street

The first destination that we move after breakfast is the World Famous Potala palace, the Palace of the Dalai Lama. This architectural Palace is the masterpiece of the Tibetans. This palace was built by King Soongtsan Gampo, who was married to Princess Wen Cheng Tang in 641 A.D. It is one of the grandest Palaces in the world till date. This is major attraction of the Lhasa, Tibet.

Jokhang Temple: the most scared temple for Tibetan Buddhists.

Barkhor Street : This street is a traditional old street in Lhasa which surrounds the Jokhang temple.

Lhasa Sightseeing covering Norbulingka, Drepung Monastery and Sera Monastery

After breakfast at hotel we will soon begin to explore other Important places and facts of Lhasa. First we will move to Norbulingka – the summer palace of the Dalai Lama, located along the Kyichu River and which is 2 km west of the Potala Palace. This Palace has a huge garden covering 360,000 square meters, making it the biggest manmade garden in Tibet. It has got 374 rooms.

The second site is Drepung Monastery, made by Chojey Tashi Palden in the 14th Century.

Similarly, Sera Monastery; this was built in 1419; this grand Monastery was home to more than 5,000 monks and five monastic colleges. These are best place to visit.

We will have return flight to Kathmandu and have rest at hotel of Kathmandu. If you wish we can take you to have cultural tour in Kathmandu in evening.

Before You Go

1. PASSPORT & TRAVEL DOCUMENTS
Before traveling to Tibet, ensure the following requirements are met:
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your departure date
Passport must contain minimum 2–3 blank pages
The passport used for visa and permit processing must be the same passport used for travel
Any passport renewal or change must be informed in advance

2. CHINESE VISA REQUIREMENTS
Visa requirements depend on your entry route:

Entering via Mainland China:
A valid Chinese Tourist Visa must be obtained from your home country
Supporting documents for Tibet travel will be provided by us
Processing time is usually 3–7 working days
Entering via Nepal (Kathmandu):
A China Group Visa is issued by the Chinese Embassy in Kathmandu
This is a sticker visa (not stamped initially in passport)
Minimum processing time is 5–7 working days

Note: Individual visas are not used for Tibet entry from Nepal; group visa is mandatory.

3. TIBET TRAVEL PERMIT (MANDATORY)
A Tibet Travel Permit is required for all travelers entering Tibet.
Required Documents:
Clear color copy of passport
Valid Chinese visa copy (if entering via China)
Travel itinerary and personal details
Passport-sized photo (as required)
Important Information:
Permit is issued only through a licensed Tibet travel agency
Original permit is checked before boarding flights or trains to Tibet
It will be delivered to your hotel or designated address before departure

4. ADDITIONAL PERMITS FOR KAILASH REGION
For travel to remote areas such as Mount Kailash and western Tibet, additional permits are required:
Alien Travel Permit
Military Permit (for restricted border areas)
These permits are arranged internally and cannot be applied for individually.

5. GROUP TRAVEL REQUIREMENT
Tibet visa and permits are generally issued under group travel arrangements
Solo travelers must join a group itinerary
All travelers must enter, travel, and exit together
Any separate departure requires official approval

6. ALTITUDE & HEALTH PREPARATION
Tibet is located at a very high altitude, so proper acclimatization is essential:
Lhasa altitude: approx. 3,650 meters
Mount Kailash altitude: approx. 6,638 meters
Recommendations:
Spend 2–3 days in Lhasa for acclimatization
Stay hydrated and avoid alcohol in the initial days
Take altitude medication if prescribed by a doctor
Move slowly and avoid heavy physical activity at the beginning

7. BEST TIME TO TRAVEL
The best seasons for Kailash and Lhasa tours are:
April to June: Pleasant weather and clear skies
September to October: Best visibility and ideal trekking conditions
Avoid winter months due to extreme cold and travel restrictions.

8. CULTURAL ETIQUETTE IN TIBET
Tibet has a deeply spiritual culture. Visitors are expected to respect local traditions:
Walk clockwise around monasteries, stupas, and prayer wheels
Dress modestly when visiting religious sites
Do not touch monks or sacred objects without permission
