Upon arrival at Lhasa Airport or train station, you will be greeted by our representative and transferred to your hotel in the city. Lhasa, the capital of Tibet, sits at a high altitude, so this first day is intentionally kept free for proper acclimatization. The surrounding views of mountains, clear blue skies, and traditional Tibetan architecture immediately introduce you to the unique atmosphere of the region. After check-in, you can spend the rest of the day resting in your hotel or taking a short and gentle walk nearby if you feel comfortable. It is highly recommended to stay hydrated and avoid any physical exertion on the first day to help your body adjust to the altitude. Overnight stay will be in Lhasa.
After breakfast, you will begin a full-day guided sightseeing tour of Lhasa, exploring its most sacred and historically significant landmarks. The day starts with a visit to the magnificent Potala Palace, an architectural masterpiece and former winter residence of the Dalai Lama. This UNESCO World Heritage Site stands as a symbol of Tibetan Buddhism and offers breathtaking views of the entire Lhasa valley. Inside, you will discover ancient prayer halls, golden stupas, and intricate murals that reflect centuries of spiritual heritage.
Next, you will visit Jokhang Temple, considered the holiest temple in Tibetan Buddhism. Pilgrims from all over Tibet travel long distances to worship here, performing kora (circumambulation) and offering prayers. The spiritual atmosphere inside the temple is deeply moving and gives you a true sense of Tibetan devotion and culture.
Later, you will explore Barkhor Street, a vibrant pilgrimage circuit surrounding Jokhang Temple. This bustling area is filled with traditional shops, prayer wheels, incense smoke, and local vendors selling Tibetan handicrafts, jewelry, and souvenirs. Walking through Barkhor Street provides an immersive cultural experience where modern life and ancient traditions blend seamlessly. After sightseeing, return to your hotel for an overnight stay in Lhasa.
After breakfast, you will board a scenic train or travel route from Lhasa to Shigatse, one of the most beautiful journeys across the Tibetan Plateau. The route offers uninterrupted views of vast open landscapes, snow-capped mountains, crystal-clear rivers, and traditional Tibetan settlements scattered across the highlands. This journey is not just transportation but an experience in itself, showcasing the raw beauty of Tibet’s natural environment.
Upon arrival in Shigatse, the second-largest city in Tibet, you will be transferred to your hotel for check-in. The rest of the day is kept free for rest and light exploration of the local area. Shigatse offers a peaceful atmosphere with traditional Tibetan culture still strongly preserved. You can explore nearby streets or simply relax after the journey. Overnight stay will be in Shigatse.
After breakfast, you will begin a scenic drive from Shigatse to Gyantse, passing through some of the most picturesque landscapes in Tibet. The journey takes you across wide valleys, high mountain passes, and rural Tibetan villages where traditional lifestyles are still practiced. Along the way, you will witness prayer flags fluttering in the wind and panoramic views of the Himalayan region.
Upon arrival in Gyantse, a historic town known for its cultural importance, you will check in to your hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure. Gyantse is quieter compared to Lhasa and Shigatse, offering a more peaceful and authentic Tibetan atmosphere. You can explore the local surroundings or simply relax while enjoying views of the surrounding hills and fortress ruins. Overnight stay will be in Gyantse.
Today is dedicated to exploring the rich cultural heritage of Gyantse. After breakfast, you will visit Pelkor Chode Monastery, one of the most unique monasteries in Tibet as it houses multiple Buddhist traditions under one complex. The monastery is an important religious site and features beautifully preserved murals, statues, and prayer halls that reflect centuries of Tibetan artistry and devotion.
Later, you will explore the famous Kumbum Stupa, a stunning multi-tiered structure known for its intricate design and spiritual significance. Inside the stupa are numerous chapels filled with ancient paintings and religious artifacts that tell stories of Tibetan Buddhism. From the top, you can enjoy panoramic views of Gyantse town and the surrounding valley.
You may also take a relaxed walk through the old town of Gyantse, where traditional Tibetan life continues at a slower pace. The combination of historical architecture and natural beauty makes this day especially memorable. After sightseeing, return to your hotel for an overnight stay in Gyantse.
After breakfast, you will begin your return journey to Lhasa by road, enjoying one last chance to experience the beautiful Tibetan landscapes. The drive takes you through open valleys, mountain scenery, and traditional settlements, offering a peaceful conclusion to your journey. Upon arrival in Lhasa, you will be transferred to the airport or train station for your onward departure.

1. PASSPORT & TRAVEL DOCUMENTS
Before traveling to Tibet, ensure the following requirements are met:
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your departure date
Passport must contain minimum 2–3 blank pages
The passport used for visa and permit processing must be the same passport used for travel
Any passport renewal or change must be informed in advance
2. CHINESE VISA REQUIREMENTS
Visa requirements depend on your entry route:
Entering via Mainland China:
A valid Chinese Tourist Visa must be obtained from your home country
Supporting documents for Tibet travel will be provided by us
Processing time is usually 3–7 working days
Entering via Nepal (Kathmandu):
A China Group Visa is issued by the Chinese Embassy in Kathmandu
This is a sticker visa (not stamped initially in passport)

Note: Individual visas are not used for Tibet entry from Nepal; group visa is mandatory.
3. TIBET TRAVEL PERMIT (MANDATORY)
A Tibet Travel Permit is required for all travelers entering Tibet.
